Such a charming and wonderful place. The room was spacious, for us overpacking Americans, space in rooms on the islands is precious. Breakfast was delicious and I believe freshly cooked by someone’s grandma in the kitchen. I have to give a shout out to Linda, the host. She was wonderful and friendly, and went out of her way to help us. We interacted with her multiples during our stay and every time, she was kind, friendly, and helpful.
We had a room on the front at the top and yes, there is road noise in the morning and early evening, but it quiets down by nightfall and with the window closed it was barely noticeable.
Be aware that there are stairs and heavy suitcases will have to be carried up, but it is not that difficult.
Overall, I highly recommend the Hebridean house.

With an early morning flight from Stornoway, I thought I would much rather spend my final night in the Outer Hebrides close by, rather than have quite a long drive from south Harris.
I must say that the interaction between owner Linda and her live-in namesake was really welcoming.
I was offered a room at the back as I'd read some reviews who had been bothered by traffic noise at the front
But I was swayed by the offer of a lovely big room at the front with a comfy settee.
The guest house also has a large lounge downstairs with a huge TV.
The bathroom was splendid with modern fixtures and nice fluffy towels.
I always rate a place's attention to detail by the tea tray - and this was one of the best. Herbal and normal tea, hot chocolate, coffee and some tasty Stornoway shortbread.
The wifi, which had supposedly been fixed that very day, didn't work at all in my room, which meant the smart TV wasn't clever at all.
What I'd read about the road noise was absolutely right. Not pleasant at all. Especially after the total tranquility of south Harris.
With the breakfast chef having not appeared by the time of my early breakfast, lovely Linda set to, scrambling my eggs and grilling sausages and Stornoway black pudding from Charles MacLeod, literally round the corner.
But I still prefer Mr. Munro's from Tarbert.
Great friendly wee place, but make sure to get a room at the back!

This is a very nice place to stay in Stornaway. It’s clean, comfortable and friendly. Excellent breakfast. And Linda was quick to solve our dilemma when snags with the ferry meant we needed another night in Stornaway at short notice.

Friendly B & B ,well located in Stornoway.
Stayed 3 nights as part of a Rabbie's Tour. My single room was small but cosy with great shower en suite and I appreciated the tea/ coffee/ hot chocolate and shortbread in the room.
Lovely cooked breakfast, especially the Stornoway black pudding ,and very friendly service from both Lindas.
It's close to restaurants, bars etc .Great base for a trip to The Outer Hebrides.

Stayed here on my Outer Hebrides Tour. Lynda was the absolute best!! She made my stay very perfect and bent back backwards to accommodate me at every possible stage. Single room was very clean albeit very small. Breakfast was very well cooked and delicious. Very near to the Co-Op if you need anything. Would recommend staying whilst overnighting in Stornaway. Thank you Lynda - you are a rare Gem!

I stayed here for two nights while on a Rabbies tour. It was a wonderful stay - comfortable room, nice clean bathroom and a delightful breakfast. Try the potato scones! Linda was lovely and I felt at home and welcome. The entire town, the castle and its forest are walkable! If you go to Stornoway (and you should) this is the place for a cozy and affordable stay.

Second time here this year and this was just as good as the first, good location with a short walk into the centre of town. Felt very welcome both times here, the rooms are spotless and comfy. The breakfast is one of the best I’ve had, fresh and cooked to perfection! Next to lews castle grounds if you like a walk. I’ve stayed other places in Stornoway and this is easily the best!

Friendly welcome, impeccably clean good sized room at front of house. Previous reviewer has suggested avoiding a front room… yes, a bit of traffic noise at times but we’re not taking trying to sleep beside a motorway. Things quieten down as the evening progresses and then, in the morning, the passing cars help with waking up. Or, maybe, I just had more relaxing whisky than the other guest 😀
Joking apart… a welcoming host, a very comfortable room and bed, substantial breakfast all at a reasonable price within in an easy level 10 - 15 minute walk of the vibrating centre od pf Stornoway.
Works for me…

We stayed in single rooms. Couldn't fault them. Very clean, all the extras shower gel, cap. Even shortbread biscuits on hospitality tray. Delicious breakfasts, individually cooked. Gluten free not a problem resulting with me eating too much. Diet starts tomorrow! Walking distance to town and castle grounds.

We stayed for two nights at the start of our Hebridean holiday. Linda was welcoming and professional. We were able to use the TV lounge to watch the Queens Funeral and were really grateful for the fortifying dram that Linda gave us; it hit the spot! Great breakfast.

Great location, and very nice room. We stayed here for two nights as part of a three day Rabbie’s Tour of the Hebrides. The breakfast was great. We were able to walk to nearby stops for food. Stornoway itself doesn’t have much to appreciate, but this was a great place to choose if you are thinking about booking this Rabbie’s tour.

Excellent place to stay in Stornaway. The rooms are well equipped and the towel rail in the bathroom makes the whole bathroom warm. Shower was good too. Breakfast eggs were perfect.
It is an easy walk to a great coffee shop and then a bit further to the main city centre.
