With an early morning flight from Stornoway, I thought I would much rather spend my final night in the Outer Hebrides close by, rather than have quite a long drive from south Harris.
I must say that the interaction between owner Linda and her live-in namesake was really welcoming.
I was offered a room at the back as I'd read some reviews who had been bothered by traffic noise at the front
But I was swayed by the offer of a lovely big room at the front with a comfy settee.
The guest house also has a large lounge downstairs with a huge TV.
The bathroom was splendid with modern fixtures and nice fluffy towels.
I always rate a place's attention to detail by the tea tray - and this was one of the best. Herbal and normal tea, hot chocolate, coffee and some tasty Stornoway shortbread.
The wifi, which had supposedly been fixed that very day, didn't work at all in my room, which meant the smart TV wasn't clever at all.
What I'd read about the road noise was absolutely right. Not pleasant at all. Especially after the total tranquility of south Harris.
With the breakfast chef having not appeared by the time of my early breakfast, lovely Linda set to, scrambling my eggs and grilling sausages and Stornoway black pudding from Charles MacLeod, literally round the corner.
But I still prefer Mr. Munro's from Tarbert.
Great friendly wee place, but make sure to get a room at the back!
