The proprietor of this guest house is one of the most honest people I have met in my 80 years .
There was a mixup with my booking and this lady went out of her way to make things right for me.
I cannot recommend her service enough.
Thank you so very much Mrs Linda Johnson.

A warm and prompt greeting on arrival from Linda who even moved her car so that I could park right outside the front door. Room 10 was incredibly clean and comfortable. The bathroom is very modern and the shower was good. Breakfast was excellent. It was nice to be able to sleep with the window open as the neighbourhood is very quiet. The complimentary hot chocolate and shortbread was very much appreciated.

Very nice guest house about 10 mins walk to the centre/harbour at Stornoway. The rooms were not big but spotless. Very nice breakfast. Parking outside the front door on the road - but no problem at all. It is a main road but not very busy (this is Lewis after all). Good value too.

As I sat in Ullapool waiting for the ferry, having been lashed by wind and rain on my motorbike journeying from Inverness, I was trying to find somewhere to stay in Stornaway. The choices were pretty limited due to the current situation, but thankfully the Hebridean Guest House had a room available.
I arrived at about 8pm, fairly moist, Linda’s welcome was very warm and she was thankfully not put off by my appearance. She showed me to my large, warm and comfortable room. Having travelled 530 miles and then the ferry journey, the comfort of the bed and a hot shower was just what I needed. An extra bonus was the heated towel rail that enabled me to try out clothing and boots from my journey!
The breakfast was fabulous and if you haven’t had Stornaway Black Pudding, you really should (unless you are a veggy, or Vegan obviously)
It was a great base for touring round the island and the position 5 mins walk from Stornaway centre made it an ideal spot.
I would highly recommend the Hebridean Guest House to anyone wishing to visit the islands.

We were so lucky! After a night of camping in high winds and rain, I phoned Hebridean Guesthouse and Linda went out of her way to provide our family with a room.
What a lovely safe haven!
They provide every room with absolutely everything you might need as an overnight guest - from a firm bed, to coffee making facilities and a nice hot shower.
Even though Linda has been doing this for thirty odd years, she still has time and a smile for everyone.
Breakfast was super, and consisted of hot and cold options. The full English with its perfectly poached egg kept us full all day.
Thank you!

Visited the Isles of Harris and Lewis for the inaugural Marathon Hebrides, opted to stay in Stornoway as a base of operations. Hebridean House was perfectly located and the staff were more than accommodating, helpful, and made me feel at home. Close enough in Stornoway to walk everywhere and an excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.

Its not easy finding a good base in remote areas when away on business but I'll always be staying here when I return to the islands.
Great reception from Kevin, warm bedroom despite cold weather outside, comfy bed, great shower and good breakfast each day with great coffee
The lounge had a good fire and a good selection of books to borrow
See you in April 2020!
Its in a quieter area of Stornaway with a fifteen minute stroll into town. Street parking close by

We stayed here on the first and last nights of our time on the Hebrides, as it was well-placed for being only a short drive from the Stornoway airport as well as walking distance into the center of town. Room was clean and comfortable--and quiet even though it overlooked the main street in front. Host was very accommodating when we needed an early quick breakfast before leaving for an early flight.
Tip for those on extended trips: The Bayhead Bridge Center, a 5 min walk up the street, has a small coin-operated laundromat that is open to the public, which we found very helpful midway through a two-week overall trip.

Great location in Stornoway. 1 block from major supermarket, close enough to walk to town, across the street from the beautiful Lews Park & Gardens.
Linda greeted us at the door and we were shown around for breakfast & where to find her if we needed anything then quickly in our rooms. Cozy, warm, quiet with all necessary amenities. Breakfast covered just about anything you could want.

Could not get a sensible price for a hotel locally so stayed here. Very comfortable well cared for B&B.
The owners could not be more helpful or accommodating. Room nice with all the amenities required. I did find the Wi-fi a bit slow and cut out a couple of times. Tea & coffee in the room with plenty of storage space.
The breakfast was superb. Cooked to order with toast, fruit juice etc. Continental breakfast items also available.
Only a pleasant 5 minute walk to the town centre and harbour. A garage with a ‘Spar’ shop almost next door for buying essentials.
Overall pleasant and would recommend.

We stayed four nights with Linda and her guesthouse. We got a clean, nice room with a fairly large and modern bathroom. Also nice that we were able to make a cup of coffee or tea in the room. A very good, freshly made breakfast of your choice, served with a smile.
Would definitely stay here again if we ever return.

I stayed here for two nights. I was warmly welcomed and had a lovely room with ensuite (with great shower), couch, tv and refreshments. The breakfast was wonderful, a lot of choice and even included home grown tomatoes. Would thoroughly recommend.
Also a great location, scenic and close to the shops and restaurants.

I stayed at the Hebridean Guest House for one night and am very happy with the stay. My room was a single person room with ensuite facilities and everything was spotless clean and lovingly arranged. I received a very friendly welcome and help whenever needed. The tasty homecooked breakfast had everything you could wish for.
Everything you might want to see in Stornoway is within walking distance.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hebridean Guesthouse. My single room was very comfortable and the bonus was having a walk in power shower instead of having to leg it over a bath as in a lot of hotels. The Guesthouse was spotless and nicely decorated. I particularly liked the large dining table where you could share with other guests at breakfast. It was nice to meet and have interesting conversations with a German couple and an American. Linda and her husband made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was first class, good quality ingredients including the famous Stornoway Black pudding. The location is within walking disrance of the town for a night out and just along the road from the Guesthouse is a Spar shop at the Garage for late night snacks. I would definitely return.

My son and I stayed here for two nights whilst cycling the Hebridean Way.
The rooms are great. Modern furniture and decoration, excellently equipped and spotlessly clean.
The owner is extremely friendly and very guest orientated. Nothing is too much trouble.
I stay in a lot of hotels for business and this is better than so many of them.
Clean, well equipped, friendly staff, good value and perfectly placed (5 minutes in to town). What more could you ask for?
If I came to this beautiful part of the world again I would go for the Hebridean Guesthouse before all else.
