Pen Y Garth Lodge Park

Looks very inviting and definitely worth checking out if you're looking for somewhere to stay.

Had a really relaxing break in a hot tub lodge at Pen Y Garth. Its a 5 minute drive down to Bala high street. The only slight criticism I could make was the hot tub location on the decking wasn't very private. Lodge was clean and spacious and park was very well kept. I would definitely return.

Have stayed here twice, in 2022 and 2024, both very pleasant stays. Room sizes are great, as is the living space, and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils if required. I never used the hot tub we had access to but it was evidently of a good size and temperature.

Beautiful location & beautiful accommodation. The park is very clean as are the lodges which are very well equipped, plenty of seating & comfortable.

Definitely would recommend to couples or families. Great location and access to a variety of tourist attractions, local villages and coast.

POS : Everything was top notch. We enjoyed the warm tub every single day. We hired 4 room lodge which was spacious for 2 families of 4. Shops within 5 mins driving distance. Playroom with table tennis, table football and a pool.
The actual location is quite nice as well.
NEG: The journey to the park was challenging and i know this is not the parks fault at all. However, the last 10 miles is so narrow in the countryside that i really didnt enjoy it especially at night with sheeps all over the road.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. It has a park for children, jacuzzi is nice and warm and near by the lodges there’s a ton of activities including bike hiring,archery, escape rooms etc and there’s also a spa.

Lovely place and location.
Reception staff excellent although bit confused at 4.30pm check-in and 5pm close - hence the self check-in I suppose.
If you have a dog, the field is right at the entrance and first left. That said, my dog was sniffing around the grounds like he had a crime to solve.
Bala itself is good and if you are blessed with good weather, the lake is great.

What I didnt like...
The WiFi is shocking. Don't mind paying for a decent service but I've had better dial up speeds.
The 9.30 checkout. Come on...let us enjoy our last night without a scramble to leave.
The lodges are glorified caravans. By that I mean they are cheap wood effect plastic. Not a deal breaker but when spending big money, you look around and think 'cheap'.
The hot tubs are not private and everyone visible if you want some privacy.
Overall very good. Enjoyed our trip to Wales.

We have just come back from our first stay at one of the Saltbox Barn Lodges!
The lodge itself is lovely. You have everything you need.
It is advertise it is for 4 people - there is 1 bedroom and the settee converts in to a bed. I think this would be a bit close quarters as we found the lodge perfect for just the 2 of us, add another 2 people in and there wouldn’t have been much room.
The garden area is secure so perfect if you take your dog.
The hot tub area is at the back of the lodge and is lovely to use - especially with the views available!
The park reception area has some items for sale - milk, bread, etc etc but is only open set times.
To walk into Bala and the shops takes about 30 minutes - take care as it’s all uphill on the way back!
Lovely accommodation and park - very peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
