I cannot say how good my experience with this company, relaxed atmosphere, made to feel so comfortable even when I was struggling with my own nerves made me feel so at home in the truck not only have I passed first time I feel like I've made friends with the team and certainly won't be a stranger, I'll be round for a coffee and a catch-up whenever possible, if anyone is thinking of doing any driver training do not hesitate to call Paul , you will not regret it such a quick easy hassle free experience, still shocked how easy the whole process was keep it up team , massive thanks to Paul ,Alex ,Stevie and Andy . I had a great experience gaining my Class 1 license through Direct HGV Driver Training. I did lessons with Stevie and briefly with Paul. Both were great at keeping me relaxed and boosting my confidence in driving. The structure of training leading up to the test was thorough and they give you as much time and practice as needed. Would definitely recommend.

Paul, Alex and the guys are brilliant at what they do. Had a great time learning under them. They’ll always keep you right and they also make sure you’re ready so you’re filled with confidence when it comes to the test. Buzzing to pass. To anyone interested I strongly recommend going with them.

Brilliant training service, friendly instructors who always give clear instructions, the training itself is done on a variety of roads from towns/cities to rural tracks and motorways they give the learner the best experience and allow them to overcome loads of challenges in the process. Amazing they really care about there new drivers and make you feel welcomed and do everything in there power to pass all there knowledge to new start by really showing that it's not scary to drive a long lorry as long you listen what they are teaching you. Because of them I passed with first go

I found Paul at HGV Direct via a third party company and I really wish Id found him Directly. I cant recommended him highly enough. Paul and the whole team are very welcoming and friendly people. It makes passing first time a sad event, as you don't get more lessons with them.
In terms of training Paul adapted his lessons to meet my needs, he built on my previous experience and gave value to that in the cab but still pushed me to be the best I could. Which clearly he done a fantastic job as I passed first time with ZERO driver faults.
Don't buy into the big companies online, stay local and put your trust in these guys. I will be sending anyone I hear looking straight to Direct HGV Driver Training and I might even book myself in for the CE course, Not because I need it but because the experience will be phenomenal.

Brilliant from start to finish. Paul, Alex and Andy where brilliant with me. All have a great wealth of knowledge and bring there own individual skill sets which complement each others brilliantly. Honestly could not speak highly enough of the guys. They have the patience of saints (i definitely tested that believe me 😅). Paul, Alex and Andy took me from not being able to reverse to passing my class 1 within a week. Paul will be in regular contact with you before, during, and after your training to make sure you are as relaxed about the whole process as you can be. Nothing is too much bother to him. They genuinely do care if you pass or fail something you just dont get with an agency. If your looking for a class 1, class 2 or C1 license these are the guys to do it with 👍

I highly recommend Paul for HGV training. He went above and beyond for me whilst I continued to work my normal routine. Nothing was ever a problem to fit in around my working hours to accommodate for training. His communication, organisation and instruction was second to none. Paul and Alex were excellent instructors really put you at ease and make the driving experience enjoyable. They gave great advice on how to improve every facet of the training experience. They got to me to the stage that passing the test was easy as they had me prepared for every eventuality. I passed my class 1 first time and I would recommend them to anyone they were excellent.

The instructors are amazing , it's been 8 years since I was behind the wheel of a truck let alone a 60 footer ! I just passed my last HGV test (mod 4, CPC) today on my 1st attempt, despite unfavourable mitigating circumstances beforehand. This was in no small part thanks to the efforts of my instructor on the day, Paul, whom thanks to his reassurance and patience that I managed to go into the test much more relaxed. Highly recommend Paul as an instructor, as any student would be fortunate to have him!

Couldn't praise enough Direct HGV and especially Paul for being able to take me through my class 1 and CPC training, being able to get me to overcome all the bad habits of a car driver to a professional driver test pass.

5 star experience for the minute go ! Had my reverse on second week 1 st week was couple hours assessment then a further 5 hours of training and my test at back end of my 5th hour . After an initial driving assessment an agreed training proposal was agreed witch resulted in a first time pass on manoeuvres carried out in Livingston & road test carried out at Perth test centre. Truck is top class as well as the instructor.
