Beanacre Barn

In August 2025, we stayed at this wonderfully peaceful location with a warm and welcoming host. The lovely, clean house has excellent amenities, and in good weather, we can relax in our own private part of the garden. It's an excellent base for trips to Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, and the Mendip Hills. A charger for electric cars is available at a very reasonable rate.

A delightful cottage, warm, very comfortable and relaxing, an ideal spot for a quiet peaceful retreat. The hosts, Tony and Susan, were welcoming and on hand to provide any advice.

We had a wonderful time at Beanacre Barn. Susan and Tony are great hosts and very welcoming. Although their house is directly opposite the barn they are not at all intrusive and gave us our space to enjoy our holiday. There is a private garden to enjoy, which we did as the weather was lovely. The garden is beautiful and secluded. The barn itself is spacious and comfortable with everything you could need. Although only 10 minutes or so from both Wells and Shepton Mallet, you feel as though you are a million miles away from all the hustle and bustle of life. We would definitely recommend Beanacre for anyone visiting the area and we would book again in a heartbeat. Thank you Susan and Tony for our stay. Annie and Matt.

Susan and Tony are very welcoming and the accommodation is first class. Well presented, clean and comfortable. In a quiet location with no passing traffic or street lighting. The barn even comes with its own private garden and patio, complete with outdoor furniture. Parking is right outside the front door as well and because the accommodation is all on one level it is handy if you have any mobility concerns. We would thoroughly recommend and should we be in Somerset again, we wouldn't hesitate to stay once more.

I have now visited possibly 4 or 5 times which shows this is just what I need for a restful break. A comfortable cottage in a lovely rural setting yet just a short drive to the village and thereon to Shepton Mallet and Wells. Lovely welcoming hosts. Plan ahead and you will see that there is a lot to do in the surrounding area. I'm sure I will be back again.

A lovely stay in in rural Somerset with very friendly and helpful hosts. The cottage was fully equipped, clean and comfortable. The electric car charging was a welcome bonus. Too many places to visit during our short stay. We should have booked a longer stay really.

What a little gem of a place. From the moment we were greeted on our arrival until we said our good byes we had a wonderful time. Nothing was too much bother. The cottage felt like a home not just somewhere to lay your head down at the end of the day. Everything you could possibly need was provided for. Those little touches make all the difference and the cottage had plenty of them. For example a small library with a large selection of books. A wide range of dvd's and a log fire. It is ideally situated for sightseeing, Wells only being 4-5 miles away. You couldn't pick a better place to stay. Thank you Tony and Susan, will definitely be back.

part of Somerset. Coming from a busy N.London borough we so appreciate the peace & quiet of this beautiful, serene place.
There are plenty of places of interest to visit locally but we always enjoy our breakfasts in the garden, soaking up the peace & relaxing in such a welcoming location.

After a wonderful holiday in September 2020, we have booked for May. Looking forward to a relaxing holiday in this lovely barn .
