Since the beginning of my search for a hair/makeup artist for my wedding, I knew straight after I first spoke to Sam on the phone that I wanted to go with her. She was friendly and calming and has been nothing but throughout the process! I am incredibly particular and anxious and Sam dealt with my endless questions and changes so patiently. On the day she helped me when I arrived stressed and crying at the venue and contributed beautifully to the vibes of the morning! She even did some quick touchups for my bridesmaids who weren't booked in with her. She made sure that we were on time and that my hair looked EXACTLY how I wanted it. I remember saying to her how perfect it looked and how happy I was with it before I walked down the aisle. Planning a wedding means you have contact with lots of different people and suppliers, which is often very short and fleeting. These are some of the most special and important times of peoples' lives and I feel honoured to have had Sam be a part of mine. It just goes to show that there are some seriously wonderful humans out there who are invested in making sure a stranger's wedding day goes the way they want - and Sam is certainly one of these! From the very first trial day, Sam from SJB Hair and Makeup was an absolute joy to be around—so friendly, full of smiles, and a brilliant conversationalist! She instantly made me feel at ease and even bonded with my mum during our joint hair and makeup trial ☺️
It was clear from the start that we were in incredibly capable and caring hands 💕

On the big day, Sam was full of positive energy and excitement 🤩
She brought along the wonderful Keren, a second artist, who was just as talented, friendly, and professional. Together, they created absolute magic for me and my bridal party 👰🏼‍♀️

My bridesmaids and maid of honour looked stunning thanks to their incredible work.
Sam worked so hard to make me feel and look like a real princess, and when I saw myself in the mirror—hair and makeup done—I truly had never felt more beautiful or confident 🥹Everything enhanced my wedding dress perfectly, and I received compliments from our guests all day long! 🤭

Sam also did my mum’s (who was also my maid of honour) hair, and she looked amazing in her whimsical purple tone pantsuit. Her classic, natural makeup stayed flawless all day and night—she told me she felt like a celebrity!

What makes all of this even more impressive is that Sam was dealing with an injury that impaired her sight at the time—but you would never have known. The care, precision, and creativity she brought to both my makeup and hair, and my mum’s, were absolutely phenomenal. Her professionalism and talent truly shine through in every detail in the photos below, as you’ll see! 😍

You are exactly the service we would use time and time again, because you not only carry out the service to a five-star standard, but are lovely as a person/people, and are a pleasure to share a wedding morning with. You give your clients that personal touch, and it is clear to all that you care for those you work on. This was gleaned at our trial in March, but was further evidenced on the day when we got to see for a prolonged amount of time, just how lovely your personalities were 🥰 — Keren even helped my bridesmaids correct my dress before I had a photo taken 💜

I don’t know where to start.
The wedding was beautiful and everything we dreamed of.

I cannot begin to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation of the whole SJB hair and makeup experience.

As you remember (only too well 😂😂) I was a previous customer as the mother of the groom in 2023. I came back to you for my own wedding, because I was so impressed back then with how you looked after me and the other members of my now daughter-in -law’s bridal tribe on her day.

Whilst I’d hope no bride gets anything but positive comments and compliments on her wedding day, I was at bowled over level by the end of the day.
Being older (61) and on number 3, (following a disappointment and a bereavement), I wasn’t at all sure I should have the full bridal hair and makeup experience, but I’m so glad I did. I felt amazing and very confident. I knew I would tho. Even my trial day with you and my daughter was amazing, and such great fun too! I shall remember that day forever, with love !

My groom shed tears … which he said he wouldn’t ’because I’m not that man etc etc ‘ 😂😂

Now, I have to mention my maids of honour ! Goodness they looked stunning ! So many beautiful compliments sent their way too ! I’ve never seen those young women so beautiful and confident, except at my son’s wedding as I said previously. The girls said this too … so many times! And we know young women are very opinionated 😂.

Even my young 9yr old flower girl was delighted. Just enough to make her sparkle just that extra little bit ❤️

Then, there’s my friend Lulu who visited from Spain for the wedding. She also wowed folk on the day. She said she felt a million dollars, and it helped make her smile. She’s recently widowed and she kind of needed this wedding weekend to go well, if that makes sense. She rocked the wedding guest look. Thank you for making her feel so special too.

Sam is such an incredible hair and make up artist. From the moment she came in until she left she made me feel at ease, calm and stress free.
She gave herself plenty of time to set up and get started. Then I left everything in her control because I knew she would make me look incredible for my wedding day and she did not disappoint.

I would 100% recommend sam for your wedding day, private function. For a moment I contemplated doing my own hair and make up (god knows why) it was honestly the best money I've ever spent. Thank you sam!

Me and my bridesmaids had such an incredible time. Sam and Helen were absolutely brilliant and totally fitted in like part of the family. Samantha was like my fairy godmother, without her I would not of felt like a princess on my wedding day . I was incredibly nervous about having my hair and make up done , and she done nothing but reassure me right up until the day. She was just simply amazing. I kept saying I wanted natural and simplicity and that it what she did !!!! Not only did she succeed in making me feel a million dollars but she stayed with me right up until I left to become a wife. She made sure my dress was right, she took photos and videos of my dad seeing me for the first as well as my bridemsaids , which is something that I will treasure forever. She even helped my bridesmaids with their hair even though they wasn't having it done, to make sure they looked perfect fot my special day. She was also amazing at calming me down . I am ao glasses I chose samantha to be a special part of my day and I willcbe eternally grateful for her . She was a huge part of thr build up to my wedding ❤️

Sam did my hair and makeup for my wedding in October 2024, she was incredible from beginning to end and I would 100% recommend her!!

She listened to me during the consultation and understood what I wanted which was so reassuring. For the practice she styled my curly hair and did a natural glam makeup look exactly the way I imagined (except better!) and I had a lovely time getting my hair and makeup done.

On the day Sam was great, she made me feel so relaxed and at ease even though it’s such a huge day. I felt absolutely beautiful and it made me feel so confident and relaxed for the day knowing that Sam had the hair and makeup part under control, thank you so much Sam!! Xxx

I had an amazing couple of hours with Sam over the weekend. She did my make up and hair for my Latin and Ballroom competition and it looked fabulous! We had a great chat whilst she was getting me ready, she used high end products, explained about applying make up and colour matches. Would highly recommend her!
