It's A Birds Thing

Bought a derbyan parakeet from Lee,very pleased with the bird Lee is very knowledgeable and would recommend him to anybody after a bird as a pet.

Lee is a fantastic seller of all kinds of birds, I've bought 6 and will buy again; he cares for his birds and his customers, i thoroughly recommend him.

We recently purchased two budgies from Lee and couldn’t be happier. Lee provided us with fantastic tips and advice and spent time with us prior to purchase. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase a bird.

Having bought 3 budgies from a local pet store within the last 18 months all of whom died very quickly we found Lee and his wonderful birds. He was so helpful and his birds are so well looked after. We brought home a stunning pale yellow budgie who is such a joy. He is young and taming well. Lee is always there to give help and advice. Would reccomend him 100%

We recently purchased a budgie from Lee, I found him extremely helpful, I spoke to him about 3 separate times and he was very knowledgeable and told me everything I needed to know! Plus Canaries, Budgies, Cockatiels, Conures, Pionus, Ringnecks, and many more.It's clear Lee has a real passion for birdkeeping, takes care of his birds, and great prices too.We bought a pair of Finches this week, and are very pleased with them.Highly recommended!

Lee is so friendly, helpful and professional. I recently had a young cockatiel pass away from illness Lee was very supportive and offered me lots of advice to try and help. He has also helped me to find a new birdy friend, Lemmy the pineapple conure. Lemmy is so gentle, loving and friendly already and that's down to Lee's nurturing and patience. Lee's after sale support and knowledge is a real help. Thank you Lee.

Highly recommend buying from it's a bird thing! I've been using Lee's company now for a few years, and I would never buy from anyone else now. He's an expert in his field, and he has a huge collection of beautiful birds! Not only can you get hand reared birds (that definitely helps to tame your new feather baby), but you can also go back to him for help or advice anytime after you've purchased! He's given me advice many times, long after the purchase, and that's invaluable me, and also to new & experienced buyers.

Anyone looking to buy a bird should 100% buy from here. There's loads of beautiful birds to choose from, but not only that, you can get everything you could possibly need. From cages, food, toys, and anything else you can think of. All in all, I'd strongly suggest coming to a reputable seller, instead of any shop where there's nowhere near the amount of care involved, and you'll have support way after your first visit 👍 10/10.

My partner went over at the start of the week and came home with our first Alexandrine. Lee has been absolutely fantastic with sharing knowledge and advice even with our other birds we have purchased elsewhere. The set up he had was lovely and clean and even had food, perches and a carry bag for us to purchase to bring him home in. Our new baby has a lovely temperament and has been looked after to the best he can be. It's clear how passionate and caring Lee is about his birds and that's all you could ask for. Would not go anywhere else now.

Well, what can I say about Lee and his feathered friends?
Our daughter is autistic and has been bird obsessed since the age of 4. Fast forward 6 years and we finally caved and agreed she could have a bird. She was very specific about what she wanted, that being a Lineolated Parakeet - specifically a blue one. My knowledge on the subject was minimal, my only experience being that my grandparents had cockatiels and an African Grey while I was growing up. Our daughter however had done her research. So I embarked on locating a breeder, which brought us to Its a birds thing.
Lee was fantastic from the outset, knowledgeable and flexible in us visiting. Completely unphased when told I’d be bringing my daughter who may ignore him. We travelled an hour and a half and while I’m sure he had better things to do, he spent ages letting her pick the blue birdy she wanted, answered all our questions and was just genuinely lovely and patient.
Blueberry was purchased and settled in well. Worried he may need a friend, we then returned a couple of months later and banana the very tame cockatiel joined us. We then got an even bigger cage as our daughter wanted them to have more space and toys. Our daughter absolutely elated with her new found feathered friends, wanted budgies as well. What she actually wanted was a pair of parakeets, a pair of cockatiels and a pair of budgies.
So yet again we went back to Lee who as per the norm, was exceptionally helpful. He sent us a video of all the budgies he had so that our daughter could choose the ones she wanted and he then reserved them. On the day we went to collect them, we left with the two chosen budgies and another cockatiel. Had he of had any parakeets left, we’d have left with one of them too! Alas we will return when he has more of them.

So, why have we returned twice after our first purchase? First and foremost, Lee is a genuinely lovely chap. The cages are clean. The birds all animated and doing their bird thing, as one would expect from healthy happy birds. Lee’s knowledge is vast and comes from a wealth of experience. He was patient and kind in relation to our daughter. He isn’t pushy in the slightest in relation to sales. He keeps in touch and answers any belated questions. All of the 5 birds we have purchased are healthy and thriving. He has a wide variety of birds to choose from.
Prices are very very reasonable.

So, would I recommend him? Absolutely. People don’t invest the money and effort he quite clearly has, to make a quick sale. He clearly has the welfare of his birds at the heart of what he does. We will be paying him another visit when he has more parakeets. There’s every chance I will purchase a conure for myself at some point, when I can sweet talk my husband!
Go visit him. Go see the birds. Be warned however, you will likely end up with an aviary like we have!
We have a very happy daughter who is as invested in her birds as Lee. She reads to them, plays with them, feeds them and loves to play them music. I’ve no doubt they will keep her happy for many years to come.

Lee is your guy if you are ever looking for any loving birds, Cages or Bird food as well as toys, I mean it's a one-stop shop, and believe me, you won’t be disappointed. He is a genuine guy who has some of the nicest well-tamed birds. I bought mine yesterday and she is already following commands on day 2 and well cuddly. Cheers Lee.

I had a lovely pineapple conure from Lee, and we are in love together 😍 I messaged him before the purchase and he answered all of my questions. When I got there to have my bird, he shared everything he knows about it and assured me he's here to help afterwards as well. I messaged him twice afterwards and he was prompt to answer and really helpful. My conure came with a ring so I didn't have to deal with it either.

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish. Within an hour of being home he’s settled and happily flying around us. The knowledge Lee has on all the different breeds is extraordinary and I’m really happy with our selection.

I picked up my hand reared cockatiel last Sunday, he’s so tame, he charges out of the cage as soon as I open the door. He was able to step up from day one, and loves sitting on my shoulder. I also purchased the cage set up for him so had everything he needed straight away including perches, toys etc. Love him! Would definitely recommend It’s a Bird Thing
