Tarset Tor Ltd

This was our first visit to Tarset Tor, and not our last.The bothy was warm, comfortable and had everything you need for your stay.It was like home from home with nice hot showers and a fully functioning kitchen.The view was really nice no matter what time of day, but it did look lovely when the sunset on a clear night.A peaceful location and very quiet during the night.On departure you do need to strip beds, give a sweep over the floors and a little bit of a clean around but this wasn’t a problem for us. Also make sure to recycle your rubbish at the designated areas on site.Looking forward to another visit in the near future.Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5

What a cracking place to visit and relax, got everything there you need , great for families, only one wish that the outside lights over the doors could be turned off as spoils the dark sky effects, health n safety I spose 😭. What a wonderful place to stay! The hosts Rob and Claire could not have been more helpful and friendly. The accommodation was perfect for our needs, very clean and cosy with great views. Really great cabin in the middle of Northumberland Park. Decently clean and very well furnished. Overall a brilliant experience. Rob was on hand from the beginning for any problems, and met us for check out. For the price the facilities are brilliant. They were clean, and well maintained. Rob and Claire very welcoming and friendly . Beautiful scenery well situated for coast , touring and walking. 16 of us stayed in bunkhouse for 4 nights . Gotta say Rob and Claire were extremely welcoming and friendly, the rooms were nice and clean (canny few spiders but we're in the countryside 😄)showers, kitchen, living room etc were all spot on!Beautiful views with a lovely pond on site and plenty of BBQs available and room for the kids to play as well as a nice little football pitch, felt like a very safe environment for young children and older ones alike.Would absolutely recommend and will definitely be going back!!! This is an amazing place. It's obviously growing quickly and I will be keeping up with its developments. If you have a group definitely consider booking the bunkhouse. It's very practical and very good value for money.The only thing I'd change is that there was a problem with the floor in the toilets that needs addressing. Other than that the lodge is perfect. From beginning to the end it was just perfect!Arrival we met the lovely Rob & Claire and helped us with anything we needed.The Bothy it’s self was clean, SO WARM (very much needed on a wet and windy February) it is equipped with everything you’d need from fuel for biomass burner to bottle opener! It’s slept all 5 of us very comfortably with very clean beds and bedding.The view are just amazing and need to be seen to appreciate how beautiful Northumberland really is.We will definitely be back in fact I might just book it tonight.Highly recommend this accommodation!!!Rooms: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Location: 5/5

Great place to stay , has out door showers for dogs bikes and so on , fully equipped and nice walk along the river to a dog friendly pub.

Such an amazing place for a stag or hen weekend. Surrounded by the most amazing country side and rivers, undulating hills and breath taking views. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and couldn't do enough to make sure our stay (all 16 of us) here was as good as it could be. We stayed in the bunk house and it was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. It was clean, tidy, spacious and VERY VERY warm. There is a sauna (which we didn't manage to use but the stag party that were in the bothys managed to get their fair use of it) we also had a hillbilly outdoor bar area with fire pit and the whole experience was just outstanding. Thanks to Rob and Claire for their warm welcome and making sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back here, that is for sure.

We rented the three bothys for a large group for a long weekend it is was absolutely amazing. The bothys sit atop a hill that gives a glorious view over the landscape and is directly aligned with the sunset giving us spectacular views all day and eve.The bothys themselves are modern, clean, and well stocked with utensils, and they sit in front of a games field which was ideal for weekend activities.Claire and Rob were great hosts and helped us unlock a great weekend. Fabulous self catering accommodation within driving distance of Kielder Observatory. Plenty of space which was great when me and my friends stayed here for my 21st. Look forward to returning in the future, hosts were friendly and know the area well.

Very good. Great surrounding scenery and the house itself is quite nice.

Really great backpackers hostel/bunkhouse. Toasty warm... pellet fired stove kept things cosy (in Feb). Kitchen and dining space very sociable. Bunk beds spacious.Showers good. Only downside was although single sex dorms, mixed sex toilets and showers.

It was nice but if you are claustrophobic stya in the bunk house not the mini pod things the sauna is very small but still can fit some people in.

Loved my stay here while checking out Kielder Forest. Very chilled place, lovely owners Rob and Claire. Very tidy and amazing setup in gorgeous landscape. Amazing sunsets and the dark sky here is second to none!!!! Don't forget the lushhhhhhh sauna 😜💓

Absolutely fab place to stay...our group which included my 5yr old son loved it...hill billy bar was great, we lit a campfire & toasted marshmallows. The sky is amazing too 😀

Awesome place. This place caters for everyone. Hen/stag dos. Reunions, family get togethers or just a place to hide away. It has every thing and the owners are very accommodating. You will leave feeling refreshed.

Would like to thank the owners who borrowed their telephone last night when we were stuck in the snow.Breakdown recovery never came but 4 hours later and battle with 2 hills we managed to get back to newcastleMany thanks for answering your door so late at night.

Excellent facilities. This is not just for backpackers it has wonderful facilities for all visitors. The views are second to none, the facilities are clean and beautifully warm, heated by echo friendly fires. Dark skies. Fishing. A tranquil yet exhilarating place to visit, as within an hours drive you can see beaches, castles (as in where Harry Potter was filmed) one of the best National Trust houses - Cragside.

Absolutely fabulous. Great Bunkhouse and the Eco lodges are a dream. Waking up to the view of the North Tyne valley is an experience not to be missed. Great place, great hosts

Wonderful setting with excellent views, superb hosts who made us feel welcome from the offset. Everything is provided! (except food and drink).We arrived to a well equipped kitchen with cutlery, pots, plates, kettle, toaster gas cooker/hob and a microwave.There is an eco friendly wood pellet boiler providing heat and hot water and plenty of pellets provided for our weeks stay.The Bothy provides plenty of power sockets for charging up gadgets however, be aware, we didn't get any mobile signal on o2, EE or Three.Fortunately there is free wifi on-site which, while not the best is definitely very welcomed!We were provided with a metal BBQ/fire pit and wood/charcoal is available on-site should you need it.It's a little more expensive than we'd usually pay however given what you get, it's certainly not a deal breaker!I hope we'll be back soon, perhaps for a little longer next time!

Booked the whole site for my wife's 30th. The accommodation is very good with beautiful views from the bothies. The woodland bar was a little neglected but this didn't impact on our stay as the space up by the bothies was perfect for a party. Highly recommended!
