I am 19 years old and was diagnosed...

I am 19 years old and was diagnosed with a brain tumour soon after returning for my second year at uni. I came out of hospital after having surgery on my cerebellum to remove the benign tumour, unable to walk and with very limited neck movement. As they had cut through my cerebellum I required a specialist neuro-physio to re teach my body how to move. I also needed someone that understood what my brain needed to do to get back to normal and Judith definitely was the right choice. I was lucky that Judith had availability to see me within 48 hours of discharge and she was able to assess me and identify movements the surgery had affected quickly. This was very valuable as it allowed me to start training my body with the correct movement patterns as soon as possible. Which prevented me from making short cuts and doing things improperly, as I would then do it like that forever.

Judith was very good at showing me what movements I needed to do. Judith's hands-on approach proved very valuable as I couldn't always tell where my body was in space so couldn't tell if I was stood upright or not. Judith was able to identify this issue and correct it.

Judith showed her level of expertise and knowledge when explaining things to me as she could present them in a way I could understand which helped considerably as I knew why I was doing each movement and my goals very clearly. I felt comfortable asking questions and she always had an answer or had a way to find out an answer which really helped me understand what my body was doing.

She was always very understanding and kind at a time in which I needed it most. Without Judith there is no way I would be this far into my recovery and I am forever grateful for how much she helped. I wish she could be my physio for my whole recovery journey however I needed to return to uni, which was one of the goals she helped me achieve, so was unable to continue with her which has made me sad.

Thanks to Judith I am able to continue my studies and I don't have to interrupt for a year which I would have had to do otherwise.

I am forever grateful for Judith and I know my parents are too so I would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of physio.
